Vision for Your Future

Did you know that the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years for what could have been a 11 day trip?

Maybe you feel like you have been wandering in the desert for 5, 10, 15, 20 or even 40 years in your struggle with food.

What allowed the Israelites to continue wandering, instead of finding their destination, was a lack of vision.  The Israelites focused on their present circumstances as opposed to the future promise.

The Israelites spent much time in the desert complaining about their current circumstances.  Do you know what they complained about?  Having enough food and water.  Sound familiar?  What if they would have traded their complaints for time spent pursuing the Promised Land?  I have to believe they would have arrived much more quickly.

The Israelites needed a vision for their future.  Do you?

God has a Promised land for you.  He has created you for freedom from food, not bondage to it.  To enter into the life that God has created for you, you must focus on the future God desires, not on complaints for your present circumstances.

To cast a vision for your future, try completing this sentence.  When I recover from this eating disorder, I will be free to__________________________.

Set your sights on the promises of God and don't let yourself be held back by complaints!
